I’m Karen of Made by KarenM Sewing Patterns! I sell PDF and physical sewing patterns, and design and sew formal wear. I’m self-taught and cater to skill levels from beginner to expert. I began to sew for others in 2014 and learned through YouTube, trial, and error. As a new designer, and not being able to charge as much as more established designers, I often looked for ways to save money on fabric to maximize profits. In order to stop re-inventing the wheel for every new client, I decided to start creating patterns I could reuse, and launched my first sewing pattern, the 4 Yard Mermaid Gown with Godets in 2019. Originally known as KGc Sewing Patterns, I rebranded in 2022 to KarenM Sewing Patterns. Since founding, through mostly organic social media marketing, the brand has reached over 11,000 sales, and over 1,200 reviews with a 4.9 star average rating.
