Minna Konttijärvi is a Finnish patternmaker and designer currently living in Milan, Italy. She’s been making patterns for over a decade. Her patterns are a mix of traditional and creative techniques.
Minna specializes in textures and volumes, frequently incorporating geometric forms and various types of folds into her designs. She dedicates a lot of time doing half-scale pattern experiments in cotton muslin to see what’s possible. For her, it’s a way to brainstorm ideas, like sketching with fabric.
Minna has been sharing her passion for this amazing craft through tutorials on her blog, theshapesoffabric.com, and Instagram posts since 2017. She is grateful for the opportunity to inspire sewing enthusiasts worldwide to learn how to draft their own patterns.
